Eli has been working to develop a musical practice that is informed by social theory and political struggle. He is particularly interested in the intersection  between symbolic orders and notions of value. This has led Eli to a practice centered around symbolic deconstruction through non-idiomatic improvisation, experimental notation that gives rise to a multiplicity of outcomes, as well as liminal perceptual frameworks.

Eli lives in Chicago where he performs on both the electric and double bass, regularly collaborating with folks from Chicago’s improvised music and new music scenes. Eli also engages in work with Chicago's rich plethora of activist communities, probably less often than he should...
